Talk therapy is a collaborative process where counselors help clients explore issues that may be standing in their way, discuss troubling or confusing thoughts and feelings, and consider new possibilities to move forward on life’s journey. A trusted counseling relationship and creating a safe and compassionate space that encourages sharing and insight are foundational for healing and growth.
After agreeing on the topics you would like to address in your initial sessions, Deborah works together with clients to formulate goals and develop a step-by-step plan to get there. She adopts a holistic and integrated therapeutic perspective, selecting evidence-based techniques that best suit each client's unique situation, values, culture and objectives.
Having completed the academic portion of her Master in Counseling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University, an APA (American Psychological Association) accredited program, she is currently offering services at East to West Counseling while completing her practicum.
Deborah brings professional maturity and counseling competence to the practice, after transitioning from a business consulting career that started in Toronto, took her to Paris, Budapest, Frankfurt, London and New York, and saw her raise a family in the Stuttgart region. In the second-half of life, her search for deeper meaning led her to shift her direction to helping people thrive.
Deborah warmly invites individuals, couples and families on a journey of self-awareness that will leverage your strengths so that you can achieve greater resilience.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
